Yes, the holidays are upon us and ’tis the season to be jolly! Sometimes all the entertaining, decorating and gift shopping etc. can become a little overwhelming, however, and if that happens jolly can turn to “bah humbug” pretty easily.
That’s why, at Culinarium, we want to make your gift giving and entertaining as easy as possible….so read on to find out about our gift baskets and quick entertaining tips to make your holiday harmonious!
As you know, we regularly taste our way around the province in search of the very best locally made artisan foods. So there is no better gift to give the foodie on your list than a basket filled with delicious Ontario goodies. We offer several themed gift baskets or we will help you design a custom basket to suit your needs. All our packaging has been carefully chosen to respect the environment. We use various reusable containers and no cello wrap.
We love helping choose gifts for other folks…it’s a ton-o’ fun! Take a look at our Edible Ontario or Taste of Ontario gift baskets or give us a call to discuss your custom order and enjoy all Ontario has to offer!
Tell us what favourite Ontario artisan foodie gifts you’d like to receive for the holidays!!
Now, for a quick holiday entertaining tip, I’m happy to pass along a tradition from our customer Peggy, who orders our fully-cooked half ducks from us and pairs them with some wonderful home cooked sides, including her home-made cranberry sauce! These make entertaining a dream (no brining, stuffing or carving required).
I’m adopting her tradition myself this year but for New Year’s Eve… here’s my Fast Festive Feast:
Pear & Blue Cheese Crostini with Candied Walnuts

Pair with a fresh mixed green salad and finish the meal with our “grab & go” cheese board with all the accompaniments and some yummies from our neighbour, Flaky Tart. Rum balls, shortbread, minced meat, fruitcakes, puddings & gingerbread…how to decide??
And here’s a favourite treat my mom makes – they ‘re gobbled up in no time but so easy to make a 2nd batch is a cinch! I hope you enjoy her Chocolate Peanut Clusters>>>
Happy Holidays to you and your loved ones!
