At The Culinarium Cupboard Cooking School we're setting out to teach all you passionate eaters, culinary skills to share and savour for lifetime of sustainable eating.

In our cooking classes we go back to basics. We feature good ingredients and simple flavours that when crafted with skill, become more than their individual parts...they become superbly delicious.

The Culinarium Cupboard is pleased to offer delicious classes by a Angelo Bean - Artisan Sausage Maker, Wine Expert and Passionate Cook with Italian flair, Chef Jose Arato - Mediterranean Expert & Aficionado and Kathleen Mackintosh - Our Local Food Maven. It's where we come to play in the kitchen, meet like minded folks, share in each other's knowledge and expertise and create some darn fine food!

Nothing tastes better than a meal prepared with love and care. And with the right skills a gourmet meal is never farther away than your very own pantry. In our cooking classes we'll show you how to cook through the seasons with ingredients from around the province and techniques from around the world. You’ll be amazed at the multitude of menus you’ll have at your fingertips.

2015 Winter Schedule


Sensational Sausage

Wed Feb 11, 6:30pm to 9:00pm

Location: Grano Restaurant 2035 Yonge St

Artisan sausage producer and avid locavore Angelo Bean will show us how to create our own homemade sausage. From fresh meat, grinding and stuffing the casings he'll work with you side by side to create a delicious, artisan sausage. Once the sausages are made we'll cook some up and stuff ourselves over the dinner table on the fruits of our labour.



Handmade Pasta 201

Wed March 18, 6:30pm to 9:00pm

Location: Grano Restaurant 2035 Yonge St

Angelo Bean returns to extend our homemade pasta making abilities. He’ll show us how to created delicious stuffed pastas, lamination and creating flavoured pasta. No pasta making experience is necessary, anyone can join, but this is also a great class for those of you who have taken our Pasta 101 class

Thursday March 26, 6:30pm to 9:30pm

Location: Aphrodite Cooks, 201 Weston Road Suite 101

In this hands-on cooking class, Paula Costa (Portuguese Chef) and Jose Arato , will teach you how to make different styles of Tapas and their cousin Petiscos. Tapiscos. These small bites, many of which are make ahead dishes, are perfect for any style of entertaining, festive holidays or even to host your own party. Paula and Jose will share with you a variety of recipes, using specific techniques, utensils and ingredients essential to creating the perfect Tapiscos experience for your guests.

Handmade Pasta 101

Location: Grano Restaurant 2035 Yonge St

Join our favourite Italian pasta master Angelo Bean for a fun evening of creating your own pasta from scratch. Angelo will show you the old school way of making pasta. Come prepared for hands on work and to have some fun with a rolling pin in this hands-on class. Once the pasta is made we’ll all sit down to a delicious Italian meal using your perfect pasta creations

Risotto for the Seasons

Wed April 15, 6:30pm to 9:00pm

Location: Grano Restaurant 2035 Yonge St

Good food starts with good ingredients. We’ll teach you to make the perfect risotto using Carnaroli and Vialone Nano organic rice varieties imported from the Italy. We learned the non-stir method directly from Gabriele Ferron and we’ll teach it to you. No longer will you consider risotto a daunting time consuming task. We’ll show you some fabulous flavour combinations to delight your palette throughout the four seasons.
